Hi Anna! Thank you so much for this video! I also always thought that I would like Carnegie Mellon because of its high rankings in engineering and computer science, but when I visited this year, I felt like it wasn’t the best fit for me. I’m a rising senior and although I may not have the best grades, I have large ambitions and hope that it will show in my essays. This video was really helpful, thanks again!!

I go to a very small school (my class sizes around around 100 so the whole school has ~400 students total. That’s the average class size of most) so I’m so afraid of the big fish small pond thing

this might be a kind of stupid question, but how much, in your opinion, do you think sat subject tests really matter in cornell admission decisions? i have pretty good ecs, well above a 4.0 gpa weighted, high act, and my course load is very heavy in ap and honors, but my sat subject scores have been actually disturbing (and my actual sat was bad, as well; my brain just doesn’t agree with it for some reason lol.) cornell is my dream school and i just don’t want these stupid tests to have anything to do with Destroying My Chances, you know? anyway, i really appreciated this video and the message that being “ordinary” doesn’t have to mean you can’t succeed is really helpful to me, especially amidst this whole college application process. thank you so much

Hi Anna, I just wanted you ask you what your SAT score was and do you think that luck plays some role in college acceptances?

I have a question, GPA is based in the last three years of High School? Or include senior year?

Although I’m from another country so I probably won’t go to college in the US I found this video very interesting and inspiring. You made me want to work hard in school. Thank you!☺️
