Such a great video! The way you were attempting to describe how you feel about NYU is exactly how I feel about it too! Very very very relatable. Once I stepped onto the campus, I felt like I just belonged there and no other school made me feel like that. Just like you said, it wasn’t about the prestigious name or that fact that it was in New York City, there was just something that clicked and I immediately knew I NEEDED to attend! I’m currently a senior in high school and in the middle of the hectic application process. Ironically, I’ve been avoiding doing my homework by watching all these NYU videos haha. Fingers crossed to hopefully seeing you next fall 🙂

Wow it must feel amazing to go to your dream school, congratulations! Similar to you, I also found out about NYU sophomore year , and I’m very interested in NYU as well. Currently, I’m a junior and I need to decide eventually what schools to apply for, but one of my biggest concerns with NYU is the cost. I know that this is probably personal, but NYU is not cheap, so (you don’t have to get into your financial history and such) was there specific scholarships you applied for? Or things that helped with financial aid? Also my other question what’s living in NYU, or New York like in general? Personally, I live on the outskirts of a big city, but even then my city is not very big. So what’s it like–pros and cons?

Hey, question about the supplement essay… I’m in the process of applying to NYU and in my essay I wrote more of an anecdote about why I knew NYU was the fit for me. I didn’t really mention anything about what I wanted to study. I read your essay and noticed you did write about that lol so just wondering if you think that just writing about an anecdote is fine? Thanks!

I’m so happy you got in! It’s truly a great accomplishment and you should be proud. Going to NYU in the city has always been a dream of mine ever since I was a little kid from Long Island. I totally relate to your experience, when it clicks you just know. I’m a senior right now going through the same process and it’s a little bit strenuous to say the least haha. SAT scores have always been on my mind. I may be South Asian and wear glasses but don’t let that fool you lmaoo. Hopefully my passion is enough to get in. I’m praying they accept my lil brownie self (gonna pull the diversity card in my supplemental ;)). Thank you so much for this video!

thank you for this video. I’ve known nyu has been my dream school and I just feel like it’s where I need to be since I’ve been, like, 12. I’m just a freshman now in high school and I took the PSAT a few months ago, so college has been on my mind seriously every once in a while since then. I’ve recently watched a lot of videos of students in nyu, and this video just made me feel the best watching. thank you.

Did you take the old or the new SAT? If you don’t mind me asking, what was your score? And your GPA? I really wanna get into NYU but I’m afraid I won’t because I can’t get more than 1350 on the SAT. My cousin got in and she had a 1450. Btw thank you so much for doing this video!!

Hi! I’m a junior and I wasn’t really considering NYU because I was so fixed on the idea of applying to schools in Cali, however the Tisch School of The Arts is really appealing to me and I feel like I would really want to apply. I live in Washington, DC, so I’m not too tooooo far away from NYU. I’m interested in either doing journalism or now, cinema studies seem very interesting! I do want to minor in film and media studies (or that was my original plan) but I saw that I can major in cinema studies at NYU, which sounds amazing. What do you think of the film and television program at NYU? Have you or do you plan to study abroad? Do you like the campus? How is the surrounding area of the campus? Pretty safe?

I’ve been wanting to go to NYU ever since I was in 3rd grade. I’ve always loved New York more than anything, and NYU is the only school that actually appeals to me. The environment makes me feel at home. I want to be a teacher and one of my closest friend’s mom has a teaching degree from NYU. I’ve heard nothing but good things about their programs. I feel just as you do about NYU. Thank you so much for the video, I’ll need this.
