Why can’t the selection of a student to a university be based on ACT/SAT and high school GPA regardless of racial or ethnic background?

I don’t think college admission should only based on ACT/SAT score, or GPA, that would be like Chinese education system. College admission should maintain their so called “holistic” review system. However, I do believe there is no legitimate explanation which could justify that applicant need to share their ethnicity, race should NEVER play any part in this “holistic” system. If there is no racial discrimination, why would they ask applicants race when they filled their application? Thanks

I am a Chinaman and I want to be an American. I want to be a rich American who will build the best university who discriminates all other ethnic groups except Asian Americans! I want to be a rich American who can make America Great Again!

this society doesn’t reward the hard work anymore, it is all about political correctness and identity politics, Asians work their butt off and still get rejected, so you call yourselves fair ?

At the end of the day, every nation which acts against their best population will stand to lose in the long term. This is seen in many nations which practised discrimination based on race or religion. Just look at those nations which practised such policy in the world.

Wall Street Journal you really need to spread the truth about SAT scores… Asians automatically get 50 points deducted from their scores while black and Hispanic students get a bonus of 230 points. Students should have the score that they studied for and not be awarded/ punished for their race!!! Please spread awareness so we can end this.

Orientals are the real “superior race”. Oriental students surpass white students and black students. Oriental adults earn more than whites and more than blacks. Hitler never denigrated Orientals as being inferior. In reality, he knew deep down inside that they are actually superior, but would never say it out loud to his fellow Germans.
The irony is that Oriental kids get subjected to the most racism in juvenile culture. Kids generally think that racism against Orientals is acceptable because 1.) Orientals are so few in number and 2.) Orientals generally do not stand up for themselves.
People from India are also superior to whites and blacks. Immigrants from India are roughly equal to Orientals.

America is so discriminating against Asians, that when the topic of discrimination against Asians comes up, only Blacks and Whites are being interviewed!!! – as, seen above…and guess what: they could not care less.

The idea that one is punished because he or she does not get access to some scarce item or resource is actually narcissistic and a sense of entitlement. Why even lead with the title of this video? How are Asians punished? Are they physically beaten? Are they totally denied access? That would be like saying that Asians possess all of the best characteristics to serve all sectors of the public and that it has been shown in the real world that Asians satisfy patients or clients in every discipline taught at the university. In that case, if Asians are the best in practice, then they SHOULD make up 80 percent of the student body as does African Americans do in the area of the major collegiate sports and certain professional sports. The error in your thinking is that you think that a certain entry score on a written exam equates to excellent performance in a given field. This is a lie. I have been practicing medicine for 2 decades, although I am Black, the majority of my patients have been White. The White patients, as well as the Black patients, have a wide degree of physicians to choose from, yet they choose to treat with me. I can count on one hand the number of Asian patients that I have treated in 20 years. The same goes for the number of patients that I assisted in the treatment of while in medical school and during medical residency. Why do I not see more Asian patients? Simple. They treat predominantly with physicians who look like them and share a similar, if not identical, cultural background. Now if you fill up the medical schools and law schools with Asians, who make up a small segment of society and who closely associate with each other, then you do the rest of society a grave disservice. Do other segments of society deserve to be able to choose to treat or not treat, or retain, the services of professionals that look like them or who communicate effectively with them, or are culturally similar to them? Unlike sports or entertainment, which are totally elective areas of engagement, many of the professional disciplines taught at the university level are essential in practice to all members of this nation.

This was the case when Caucasian were the top of the food chain. When there weren’t lots if Asian ppl in the USA now they cannot compete with the Asian kids. Long term Asians will just work harder and still get in .

This is sickening. Affirmative Action is legalized discrimination and corruption. This is so unfair. How can the United States, my country, that I love, allow this to still happen. This is why I lean conservative.
