8th grade
5s on all stardardized tests besides writing (in case you don’t understand the scoring system 5 is Max scores on all except writing which has gotten confusing as the years go on but always a high c/low b)
Practically no instruments
Have no idea on what I want to do in life

my friends donāt say it, but they sort of think Iām wasting my time because Iām applying to top schools even tho Iām only top 5% of my class and my stats are pretty low in comparison to ppl who apply to those schools… itās kind of sad because i think they have just as much potential as me, if not more, but they donāt want to āwaste their timeā applying to schools that they āwonāt get intoā and ābesides, have way too high a tuition.ā I wish my friends approached college applications with more confidence, and your mindset!! (btw, i love the content on your website)

I really want to be honest on my college app, but I’m afraid that Stanford and other colleges will not accept who I am…
I’m a Korean girl who ice skates and plays piano. Pretty basic for an asian… I’m not super smart. My sat and act sucks… And I don’t write poetically with the nice adjectives and stuff… I’m afraid that my will to work hard, succeed, and to help others won’t show thru my essay. I have great grades and am working towards a 30 or above on the ACT right now but, I haven’t taken very rigorous courses through my school year. I’ve only taken 1 AP Course and 1 Honors Course and am currently taking an AP Course. I don’t know if I have a chance of getting in because I lack rigorous courses and my school could offer a lot of them I just didn’t know what their importance was…
